NORDALSFJÄLLET (NORTH VALLEY MOUNTAIN)

This a new, updated version of the classic Nordalsfjället summit tour, starting a stone’s throw from Riksgränsen’s lifts. We start by taking the lifts up to the top of the ski system and there, looking out over the majesty of northern Scandinavia, we put on skins and trek down towards Nordalsfjället. From there we take a leisurely pace just across the Norwegian border away from the ski system and up to the top. Along the way we will have a fantastic view of the Norwegian mountain range and the feeling that civilization has disappeared, even though we’re quite close to the hotel. Once up at the topstone cairn, which lies on the border between Sweden and Norway, we look west all the way down to the fjord. At Nordalsfjället, the NM in extreme skiing championship has been held annually and in the right conditions, Nordalsfjäll offers world-class off-piste skiing. This is a summit trip for those who want a shorter adventure or want to experience a Riksgränsen classic. Ski touring equipment required.
